Backstage Update On WWE Moving WrestleMania 36 To Performance Center
The big news on Monday was WWE announcing that WrestleMania 36 has been moved to the Performance Center next month due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The event was originally slated to take place at the Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida. Dave Meltzer provided an update as to why WWE decided to hold the show at their training facility.
The call was made to move it to the Performance Center instead of postponing the event to a later time. Vince McMahon was not confident that at any time they’d be able to reschedule or postpone the event.
Meltzer noted that McMahon couldn’t confidently say the exact time they could hold the show in the stadium. Meltzer brought up the possibility that there could be no shows for months and McMahon felt they should get the show done already instead of delaying it.
WWE holds the WrestleMania 36 pay-per-view event on Sunday, April 5, 2020 in Orlando, Florida at the WWE Performance Center. The show will take place without any type of audience of fans in attendance.
