The latest announcement on eWn tells us that the much-anticipated docuseries, “Mr. McMahon,” from Netflix, is set to premiere at the stroke of midnight tonight.
Well-known to many, numerous interviews with Vince McMahon, the once-revered and now scandal-ridden WWE Chairman, were conducted before he was compelled to step away from WWE.
News platform Fightful Select shares that all the interviews involving McMahon for the docuseries were shot prior to his initial departure from WWE. Interestingly, he doesn’t seem to disclose much about the disputed issues related to him, including those that occurred prior to the accusations of sexual misbehaviour. Reports suggest several industry individuals who felt they were mistreated were interviewed for the series.
Earlier in the day, word spread that McMahon attempted to purchase the series’ footage from Netflix to halt its broadcast. However, his bid was refused by Netflix. An inside source suggested that the footage is not as damning as expected, particularly given the severity of the allegations levelled against him.
Lastly, it is implied that the WWE expects disclaimers to be incorporated, stating that the interviews were conducted ahead of the sexual misconduct accusations surfacing.
