Mickie James had to vacate the Impact Wrestling Knockouts Championship in April due to a broken rib after working through a shoulder injury, with her most recent bout happening at the February 26th tapings.
Fightful Select is now reporting that James is healthy and could be returning very soon. The report noted that they were told she was medically cleared a few weeks ago and is technically a free agent.
The report stated, “Mickie James was expected to remain with IMPACT Wrestling until at least this Summer, sources in the company said, though that was before the injury. Another source said that despite the fact that Mickie James technically is and always has been a free agent since coming back to the company, they’ve always seen her as a woman of her word and there’s never been any real concern of her going back on commitments.”
Although Impact Wrestling officials didn’t want James to vacate the title due to Josh Alexander doing so because of an injury with the World Title, they were forced to after doctors had told her she could miss “months” of action.
