As we previously reported here on eWn, Mercedes Mone has signed a short-term contract extension with NJPW and STARDOM.
According to a report from Fightful Select, Mone signed the contract extension with Bushiroad prior to her match at STARDOM All-Star Grand Queendom. At that show, she lost her IWGP Women’s Championship to Mayu Iwatani. Several members of Mone’s team have confirmed that the contract will run until at least the NJPW Resurgence event on May 21st.
It was noted that several higher-ups in New Japan Pro Wrestling aren’t sure on the exact length of the deal, but noted that there were no matches scheduled in Japan “at least for a while.” Additionally, NJPW and STARDOM have had nothing but high praise for Mone’s backstage work ethic and respect for the current roster.
And finally, it was noted that both Mone and STARDOM are interested in working together in the future.
