Backstage Update On KAIRI’s WWE Return

News broke on Saturday that KAIRI, formerly known as Kairi Sane, is making her return to WWE. The two sides have agreed to a deal, but no further details were given. 

KAIRI originally signed with WWE in 2017. She found success in NXT as the XT Women’s Champion and later a Women’s Tag Team Champion with Asuka before returning to Japan in 2020. 

She ultimately left the company in 2022 before wrestling again that same year in NJPW/STARDOM. 

Dave Meltzer noted on Wrestling Observer Radio today that KAIRI is expected to return to WWE sometime in November and her WWE return may have something to do with Bushiroad, the parent company of  NJPW/STARDOM, cutting back on costs.
