Backstage Update On Johnny Gargano’s WWE Status

As many of you know by now, Johnny Gargano hasn’t been seen on WWE television in quite some time. There have been several rumors floating around that this is due to an injury.

According to a report from Fightful Select, the reports stating that Gargano is currently injured and won’t be competing at SummerSlam are inaccurate. Gargano is no longer injured and has been factored into recent creative plans.

With that being said, there is no word on his current status for SummerSlam or whether the original plans for a DIY angle with Tommaso Ciampa are still on.

Finally, it was noted that Gargano was backstage at a recent RAW TV taping in Cleveland, OH. While he was supposed to be appearing on that show, the segment was dropped due to creative changes.
