Backstage Update On Carlito’s Current WWE Status – Has He Signed?

Carlito made a surprise appearance earlier this year at the WWE Backlash 2023 pay-per-view event, fueling rumors of his potential return to WWE as a full-time wrestler.

According to a report from the Wrestling Observer, Carlito signed with WWE at the beginning of July and has been waiting to be given something by the WWE creative team. Dave Meltzer said,

“He signed at the start of July. He pulled off of all his indies, so he was ready to start, he signed. He had a start-date, he was there, but they couldn’t figure out what to do with him, and they still haven’t figured out what to do with him.”

It’s worth noting that this kind of incident has happened with talents signed to WWE in the past, more recently Harry Smith (Davey Boy Smith Jr.).
