Backstage Reaction To Kenny Omega vs. Will Ospreay At AEW x NJPW: Forbidden Door II

During Sunday night’s AEW x NJPW: Forbidden Door II pay-per-view event, Will Ospreay defeated Kenny Omega to win the IWGP United States Heavyweight Championship in what turned out to be a solid Match of the Year contender.

Fightful Select has shared some details on the backstage reaction to the highly-praised match and more.

According to the report, there were concerns about Omega and Ospreay’s condition immediately after some of the dangerous spots during the match.

However, neither Omega nor Ospreay suffered any injuries and The Cleaner told several people he was alright.

Omega and Ospreay received a standing ovation upon returning backstage. Several talents lavished praise on the two athletes for putting up such a memorable match, which was said to be “meticulously planned” similar to their Wrestle Kingdom 17 bout.
