Backstage Note On When STARDOM Planned For Mercedes Mone To Lose The IWGP Women’s Title

Mercedes Mone lost the IWGP Women’s Championship to Mayu Iwatani at STARDOM All-Star Grand Queendom over the weekend.

Ahead of the match, Mone signed a contract extension with Bushiroad.

According to a report from The Wrestling Observer, the decision to have Mone drop the title to Iwatani was made a while before the contract extension was signed. The length of the contract extension is unknown.

Mone will be appearing at NJPW Resurgence on May 21, although there may be more dates added to her schedule.
