Backstage Note On Reporter Injured At AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door II Media Scrum

During the post-show media scrum for AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door II, a reporter named John Muse was accidentally hit by a water bottle when an irate Chris Jericho crashed the press event.

Jericho used his bat Floyd to hit the bottle while issuing a challenge to Sting. The impact resulted in the bottle hitting Muse in the face and cutting him above his eye.

AEW President Tony Khan called the incident “unacceptable” and apologized to Muse.

The Wrestling Observer Newsletter is reporting that Muse later returned to the media scrum and is doing fine at present.

Muse and Khan have known each other since the latter was a teenager. AEW medical staff treated Muse’s cut Khan checked on him after the scrum.

Jericho later apologized to Muse in private.
