News broke earlier this week that the Endeavor Group has acquired WWE and WWE will merge with the UFC as a new company. The transaction is expected to be completed later this year.

Following the news, there has been speculation about WWE’s relationship with Saudi Arabia moving forward now due to the history between Saudi and Endeavor CEO Ari Emanuel.

Dave Meltzer of F4WOnline.com noted the following:

“Given that Emanuel and Endeavor pulled out of their business relationships with Saudi Arabia years ago after the murder of reporter Jamal Khashoggi, the belief from WWE is that current deal will continue through the terms of the current contract which was for 20 events in total.”

Emanuel could end up softening his stance on doing business with the country before the deal expires in 2028.

WWE returns to Saudi for the King and Queen of the Ring event on Saturday, May 27th 2023.
