Backstage News On WWE Superstar Spectacle 2023

WWE will put on the WWE Superstar Spectacle at the GMC Balayogi Indoor Stadium this Friday, marking the company’s first event in India since 2017. 

The event will be broadcast locally on the Sony Sports Network in India and not on Peacock. John Cena has confirmed he will be wrestling at the show. 

The Indian market is WWE’s second-largest TV revenue stream, after the US, according to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio. Outside of cricket, it is not usual in their culture for people to attend sporting events, making it difficult to sell tickets. 

According to Meltzer, the purpose of the event is not to sell tickets but rather to build WWE’s popularity in India. Sony is bringing them in and hosting the event.
