Backstage News On Who Booked AEW Dynamite Battle Royal, Other Segments On The Broadcast

According to a report in the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Tony Khan wrote the Tag Team Battle Royal that opened up this week’s episode of AEW Dynamite.
Khan has reportedly taken a more hands-on approach in recent weeks, and it was noted that he, along wrote out the plan for the battle royal along with feedback from The Young Bucks at the point position, and BJ Whitmer and QT Marshall as assistants. It was said that the match went as planned without a missed spot, and Khan called for the lights to go out before Darby Allin appeared.
Chris Jericho and Dean Malenko were credited for plotting the Jericho and Moxley post-match segment. Cody and Kenny Omega were both in charge of their own respective matches, while Omega also planned the Kris Statlander match on the show.
The Observer also noted that a lot of top TNT executives were at this week’s show, and there was no issue with the use of blood in regards to the main event cage match.

Khan’s role has reportedly evolved in recent weeks, with it said that he took on more of a creative role following the company’s Corpus Christi, Texas event. Khan was credited with being involved with the Hangman Page storyline as well as being the one to suggest having Britt Baker make barista barbs at Tony Schiavone.
