WWE seems to be reconsidering a long-established tradition in its yearly schedule.
In a report by Cory Hays from Bodyslam.net, it has been suggested that WWE is seriously considering shifting the 2025 Draft from its usual spot right after WrestleMania in the spring, to a new timeline following SummerSlam.
Historically, the WWE Draft has occurred in the spring, aiming to refresh the line-ups for RAW and SmackDown after WrestleMania. Nevertheless, internal signals reveal that the corporation is now tending towards scheduling the Draft in September. The intention is to coincide it with the season premiere episodes of its weekly series.
One of the main factors influencing this possible change is WWE’s intention to allow summer narratives to flow naturally without causing interruptions amidst their progression. Given that SummerSlam is scheduled for the weekend of August 2–3, officials reportedly see this event as an apt moment to restructure the rosters for the upcoming autumn season.
Moreover, recent promotions from NXT and continuing long-term narratives have reduced the need for a spring Draft. This provides WWE with more flexibility in their scheduling.
Whilst nothing has been officially announced, current indicators suggest that the 2025 WWE Draft will be repositioned as an autumn event — marking a unique move from its traditional post-WrestleMania slot.
