Lance Archer was set to make his AEW Dynamite debut last night but we’ll have to wait another week to see him.

Archer was advertised for last night’s event in Denver but it ultimately got pushed back and was not mentioned on the show. According to Dave Meltzer on today’s episode of Wrestling Observer Radio (subscription needed), Archer’s absence was due to a creative change and nothing more. Meltzer added that he was not sure if Archer’s absence had anything to do with Jake Roberts appearing on the show, or if Archer was tied to Roberts as his mystery client.

It’s worth noting that reference to Archer’s debut on last night’s show were pulled from AEW social media after running last week.

In other news, Meltzer noted Kenny Omega was dealing with a broken pinkie after AEW Revolution but it will not require surgery. Omega will need to have it set in a cast, but it was presumed Omega could still work with it. Meltzer said he didn’t believe Omega was backstage last night and isn’t sure when he’d return.

Nick Jackson of The Young Bucks also missed last night’s show as he and his wife are due to have their third child, and isn’t expected back on Dynamite until then. Neither Omega nor Jackson was scheduled for matches on last night’s show.
