Pwinsider has provided some details on Jimmy Jacobs’ signing with AEW, including who Impact Wrestling has hired to replace him.
The report states that Jacobs will work on the creative process as part of a move to onboard additional staff in preparation for the premiere of AEW Collision.
Bryan Danielson, Will Washington, and Dax Harwood have also been involved in creative pitches to AEW President Tony Khan recently.
Impact Wrestling reportedly had knowledge of Jacob’s departure beforehand and the former WWE writer officially severed his duties during Against All Odds 2023 weekend.
Jacobs had given an official notice several weeks prior, and his departure is said to be “absolutely amicable.”
Jacobs was praised internally at Impact Wrestling for working as much as he did during his exit process despite the fact that he already had his employment letter from AEW.
The report reveals that former ROH booker Hunter “Delirious” Johnston will replace Jacobs on the Impact creative team.
Impact Wrestling officially hired Johnston as a writer and producer several weeks ago.
