AEW All In: Texas had several bouts lined up in preparation, but certain initially considered matches are no longer on track.
Earlier details were shared via Fightful Select informing us about a long-standing plan for a match between Kazuchika Okada and Kenny Omega. This possible event was being discussed and designed since the previous year. At one instant, the plan was to pit Omega against Okada for the Unified title before Omega’s return to action. But that wasn’t the sole instance where long-term plans were in place.
Another significant match chalked out at the year’s commencement featured Mercedes Mone and Toni Storm for a Champion versus Champion face-off, planned as a prime event at All In: Texas.
Late last year, talks were in progress regarding a contest between Cope & Christian and FTR, which was still a consideration up till early 2024. Nevertheless, that specific match is not anticipated to occur now.
In further news, Tony Khan recently confirmed that the band Coldplay had reserved Wembley Stadium for their tour during the typical All In weekend, a plan executed several years prior. AEW, being aware of this, took the decision to either change the date or location for All In. As of now, no specific reason has been provided for not rescheduling Wembley for a different date, particularly since this year’s show is already set for a new date on the calendar.
