The New Japan Pro Wrestling’s adversary, Jay White, is on a hiatus due to a hand injury he’s nursing back to health. Another wrestling superstar, Orange Cassidy, has also been temporarily ridden off the scene due to a ripped pec muscle.
A significant number of wrestling talents had travel hiccups. This impinged on their appearance at the much-awaited TV tapings of AEW Dynamite this week.
Unfortunately, Shelton Benjamin couldn’t make it to the show despite spending the whole day in transit, due to an unavoidable delay.
The headline clash at this week’s AEW Dynamite featured Jon Moxley and Marina Shafir pitted against Swerve Strickland and Willow Nightingale. As the curtains raised, Strickland and Nightingale claimed victory, while spectators were left flabbergasted as Moxley landed a Death Rider on Nightingale, post the match.
Offering his take on the showdown, Bishop Dyer on a recent airing of the “Busted Open Radio” podcast lauded AEW’s storytelling prowess and gutsy decisions. With a sense of appreciation, he talked about how the fight went down and the direction the organization seems to be headed. He verbally stated,
“First off, I love when a show kicks off with a clash like that, a top-billed faceoff. Plenty of times, we’ve been introduced to a scripted promo first, but I certainly prefer diving straight into the action.”
He went on to add, “It seems like they’re prepping for the upcoming weekend, but a lot transpired in that match. The twist at the end where Mox attacked Willow was absolutely stunning. We ought to discuss that aspect because it was, without a doubt, the shocker of the night. Instances like these, if curated well, pack a powerful punch.”
