The expiration of the contract between AXS TV and New Japan Pro Wrestling for airtime has been officially verified.
An earlier report on Monday confirmed that the broadcasting deal between NJPW and AXS TV has concluded with the expiry of their contract on the first day of 2025.
This development was also corroborated by an official statement from AXS:
“For the time being, we will not broadcast New Japan Pro Wrestling. Our contract expired as 2024 came to a close. Regarding the status of current or possible future contracts, we don’t have any comment.”
Reports suggest that New Japan Pro Wrestling decided against renewing the contract, instead trying to secure a contract with a bigger network in the United States.
