In a surprising twist at WWE SummerSlam 2024, Jelly Roll launched himself at A-Town Down Under before turning to Austin Theory with an epic chokeslam.

In a recent episode of the “Battleground” podcast, Theory enlightened his fans by revealing that the chokeslam was his proposition to Triple H, differing from the original plan.

Austin shared, “In terms of the Jelly Roll incident, a chokeslam wasn’t scheduled. There were whispers of ‘possibly a chokeslam,’ but we initially planned for a scoop slam. I expressed to Triple H, knowing the atmosphere of the ring, ‘Trust me with this. Let Jelly Roll perform a chokeslam on me. Trust me to make it spectacular. All he needs to do is raise his arm.’ As expected, the execution was outstanding, and it garnered immense attention. Understanding the role that night and realizing the impact of my actions are critical for me. ‘Is this what I should be doing right now for the company and the position they entrusted me with?’ I completely understand. I am never disappointed. I have a fantastic opportunity. I have this moment; it’s WWE which I’ve desired to be part of all my life. It’s where I always aspired to be, and I’m committed completely. Irrespective of the opportunity or the opponent, be it The Rock or Jelly Roll, I’m 100% involved.”

The “Busted Open Radio” podcast, another popular WWE podcast, had WWE Hall of Famer Bully Ray as a guest. Ray explained why The Miz should consider transitioning from his role as a main eventer in WWE.

Speaking about The Miz, Ray stated, ” I dispute the idea of using The Miz as a prime contender for the world champion run. I’d rather not see The Miz in a face-off against GUNTHER or any such scenario. Miz can serve as the prank victim with pie all over his face, he can come out to be abhorred, he can emerge to be cherished.”

Ray elaborated why WWE will hesitate to reassign The Miz to the primary event scene, stating, “So, being in his 40s and a WWE veteran, Miz won’t be propelled back into that scene. Yet, I firmly believe he is as significant as anyone in the spotlight.”

The Miz, at age 43, has successfully carved out an impressive wrestling career with WWE over the span of two decades. The legendary wrestler is the first in WWE history to have twice been crowned the Grand Slam Champion.
