ROH Women’s World Champion Athena is continually etching her name into the annals of history as she is now recognized as the longest-running champion in the history of the promotion.
Athena most recently marked 646 days as the ROH Women’s World Champion, thereby outstripping the 645-day reign of Samoa Joe, who held the ROH World Championship title from 2003 to 2005.
December 2022 saw Athena come out victorious at ROH Final Battle to win the coveted title. Impressively, her reign has outlived the combined tenure of all previous Women’s Champions.
Ring of Honor Wrestling took to Twitter to acknowledge the record-breaking milestone of their champion. “Congratulations to ATHENA: the longest reigning ROH Champion EVER at 646 days!” they tweeted on September 15, 2024.
Recently, Athena successfully defended her title at ROH Death Before Dishonor 2024, where she emerged victorious against Queen Aminata.
The ROH Women’s World Title was initially introduced in 2022, with Rok-C (currently WWE NXT Women’s Champion Roxanne Perez) emerging as its maiden champion.
So, the MOST DOMINANT ROH Women’s Champ Athena will face Red Velvet next on 4/13/24 AEW BOTB.
