On a recent episode of the “What’s The Story” podcast, ex-WWE Universal Champion Finn Balor had words of high praise for WWE Performer, GUNTHER, whom he referred to as the top performer in the wrestling world. He even went as far to label the longest reigning WWE Intercontinental Champion as the best on the globe.
When discussing GUNTHER, Balor effusively said, “In my view, WALTER/GUNTHER is perhaps the most exceptional performer on earth in this moment. My perspective, of course. I become so inundated seeing so much content that I sometimes think, ‘I can’t be bothered watching this.’ While I haven’t seen everything, I’ve seen many things. I’ve been a wrestling fan for 35 years. It’s seldom that I think, ‘This piques my interest.’ But when WALTER steps into the ring, I’m intrigued. I’m curious to see all that he is capable of. There are no moments where I can predict his next moves. It’s one of the few matches that I have yet to experience in my career, and it’s one I truly want. We almost arranged it prior to COVID, aiming to establish it in NXT UK, but circumstances dictated otherwise. We ended up taking a different path. Given we’re both heels now, I’m uncertain of outcomes. But, I’ve shared my thoughts with the office that it’s a match I would love to see in the future. Here’s hoping it happens.”
Balor’s comrade from the Judgment Day crew, Damian Priest, is set to take part in a head-to-head encounter with GUNTHER in this evening’s WWE RAW episode.
