During AEW All In: London, an interesting swap in titles took place with Maxwell Jacob Friedman forfeiting the AEW American Championship to Will Ospreay. After securing victory, Ospreay promptly restored the championship title back to its original name – the AEW International Championship.

In an adrenaline-charged match filled with suspenseful near-wins and periods where the referee, Bryce Remsburg was indisposed, MJF’s numerous low-blow tactics proved ineffective. Eventually, it seemed as if karma was not on his side.

This was particularly evident when Daniel Garcia, making his comeback appearance, thwarted MJF’s attempt at leveraging a foreign object. Garcia launched a powerful punch of his own, distracting MJF just long enough for Ospreay to execute the Hidden Blade, quickly followed by the Tiger Driver. Ospreay then successfully pinned Friedman.

The fallout of this event suggested that the AEW American Championship has been fully discontinued in favor of the AEW International Championship. From what was observed, the rematch could set the stage for MJF v/s Daniel Garcia at AEW All Out on September 7th at the Now Arena in Chicago, although this has yet to be officially confirmed.

In the meantime, Ospreay’s upcoming match at All Out has already been lined up. PAC was previously identified as the next contender for the title, setting up a confrontation with whoever walked away with the belt from this match.
