The introduction of Stephanie Vaquer as a WWE superstar in the wrestling ring has been marked with victory as she clinched her first match in a live WWE event in Mexico City.
During last night’s event, Vaquer triumphed over Isla Dawn, the current WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion. Post-match, an emotional Vaquer shared her joy of finally making her dream of joining the WWE a reality.
Vaquer’s entry into the WWE was celebrated with an enthusiastic tweet:
“¡LLEGÓ STEPHANIE VAQUER A WWE! 😍 The Chilean/Mexican is the new WWE superstar and is here to fight with her people! 🇲🇽”
Vaquer formally inked her contract with WWE earlier in the week, a fact that was socialized by Shawn Michaels on Twitter, who extended a warm welcome to her into the ‘family.’ Speculations have since surfaced about prospects of her beginning her stint with WWE NXT.
The ascent of the Chilean fighting megastar in the WWE universe resulted in her abrupt exit from CMLL. Murmurs about potential ‘heat’ from CMLL have been rife, given Vaquer was originally scheduled for more appearances there.
In the AEW x NJPW: Forbidden Door 2024 event, Vaquer put on a commendable show despite losing to Mercedes Mone. Her performance in the match was celebrated by fans, who initially were more familiar with Mone.
