Asuka Beats Bayley, Earns Title Shot Against Sasha Banks At WWE SummerSlam

This week on WWE RAW, Asuka faced WWE SmackDown Women’s Champion Bayley. With a win, Asuka would earn a WWE RAW Women’s Championship match against Sasha Banks at WWE SummerSlam. Banks accompanied Bayley to the ring, and Asuka immediately took the fight to her opponent. A clearly frustrated Asuka controlled the match by overpowering Bayley early on. Bayley gained the upper hand when she slammed Asuka off the top rope.

Asuka rallied and dropped Bayley with a German suplex. A running stomp in the corner earned Asuka a two count. Bayley damaged Asuka’s leg by trapping her in an ankle lock. Bayley targeted the leg, and Banks took a cheap shot, which allowed her fellow Golden Role Model to keep the upper hand. Asuka got a two count with a roll-up out of nowhere, and she locked in a devastating armbar. Bayley countered a Codebreaker into an Indian Deathlock. Asuka rocked Bayley with a knee to the head, but Bayley nearly won the match with a diving elbow drop. Bayley mocked Asuka, and her cockiness cost her the match, as Asuka immediately trapped her in the Asuka Lock and made her tap out.
