Ashley Vox comments on the impending hiatus for Ring of Honor.

Recently, it was announced that Ring of Honor will be taking a hiatus for the first quarter of next year in order to re-imagine the promotion. Since the news of the hiatus broke, many wrestlers have commented on the state of the company and now, one of the non-contracted women’s wrestlers who helped the growth and re-emergence of the women’s division in Ring of Honor is commenting on its upcoming pause.

During an interview with Jon Alba, Ashley Vox expressed sadness for the upcoming hiatus, saying that many wrestlers are losing their livelihood. However, she did express gratitude towards Maria Kanellis and the locker room for motivating her and allowing her to be a part of the rebirth of the women’s division.

“It was just like everyone else’s reaction. I was completely shocked about it. But you know, COVID took a big toll on a lot of companies and it’s kind of hard to pay for talent when you don’t really have an audience, you know? You’re trying to be safe. And it sucks. I feel bad for everyone that was under contract like that was their life. That was their jobs. So I can’t complain too much because I wasn’t under contract, but you know, I’m gonna cherish the moments that I got to work with Maria Kanellis and the women there and the new women’s division that they were building up it was awesome, dude. It was awesome to see just so many new and talented female wrestlers – great locker room. It really motivated me and it’s sad to see that there is a pause. But you know, they’re coming back what in April’s so it’s not too far off.”

It is believed that moving forward, Ring of Honor will focus on showcasing talent without contracting them. Ring of Honor is expected to host its final pay-per-view of the year, Final Battle, on December 11.
