In a recent episode of his podcast, “The ARN Show”, Arn Anderson shared a wide range of experiences and anecdotes from his wrestling career. Topics included whether he ever refused a storyline, the wrestling nickname that he loved the most, among other interesting tidbits.
Highlights from the podcast are summarized below:
Talking about his favorite wrestling nicknames, Anderson shared an amusing story. He said, “I’ve got one nickname that really stands out. Before he became ‘Stone Cold’, Steve Austin was known as ‘Stunning Steve’ in WCW. That’s when I first came across him. He had a peculiar habit of just walking up to people who were engaged in conversation or just chilling. Suddenly, a horrible stench would hit you and you’d wonder where it came from. Then you’d see him calmly walking away with a grin. He’d sneak up, let one go, causing quite a ‘stink’ among the crowd, then nonchalantly walk away. I tagged him as ‘Hog’. Even today, I continue to call him that.”
When asked if he ever declined a proposed storyline,Anderson mused, “I wasn’t even aware that such an option existed. Throughout my whole career, I was oblivious to the fact that you can actually say no to a storyline. Consequently, I never once turned one down.”
