In a recent episode of his podcast, “The ARN Show,” retired professional wrestler Arn Anderson gave some words of caution to emerging wrestlers. His focus was on the hazardous leap known as moonsault outside the ring.

In this particular podcast, Anderson went on to share some interesting advice for his audience.

As per Anderson’s preference in wrestling style, he didn’t seem to enjoy having bunkhouse-style bouts or fights that included the use of tables. He finds such matches particularly distracting, and they often elicit a visceral reaction. He described it as challenging to keep up with the chaos in such fights.

He expressed his partiality towards wrestling with beloved names from the sport like Ricky Steamboat, Brad Armstrong, Ricky Morton, Robert Gibson, Magnum T.A., and Dusty Rhodes. These wrestlers were loved by the public and they made it easier for Anderson to play the unloved and disliked part.

Coming to his advice for contemporary wrestlers, Anderson raised a warning bell, urging them to think twice before executing a moonsault outside the ring. He questioned the common occurrence where a wrestler attempts such a move, but inevitably misses the target. The maneuver involves a complete rotation with the wrestler’s feet coming down directly onto the opponent. Anderson pointed out that this landing hardly ever appears visually correct, and it’s worth considering the risks against the rewards.

The discussion concluded on a note cautioning young, aspiring wrestlers to make wise decisions with their moves. For a deeper understanding of Anderson’s discourse, you can watch his full conversation in the podcast below.
