Professional wrestler Cody Rhodes has set his sights on defending his title against those who aspire to be The Tribal Chief. Rhodes currently holds the WWE Universal Championship title which he plans to defend against Solo Sikoa in the upcoming SummerSlam 2024 pay-per-view event. This development was discussed at length when he made an appearance on ESPN’s podcast, “Get Up”.
During the interview, Rhodes laid out his intentions – “Well, this weekend, SummerSlam is one of WWE’s big four PLE pay-per-view events. This, hopefully, in an entertaining way, is a bit of a repeat of what we got at WrestleMania, which was the biggest show in wrestling history,” he said.
His resolve seemed to intensify as he mentioned his record against The Tribal Chief, none other than Roman Reigns, and Solo Sikoa. He quipped, “I defeated The Tribal Chief, the True Tribal Chief, that being Roman Reigns. I look to defeat the pretender, Solo Sikoa, at SummerSlam. If you’re also someone in The Bloodline, perhaps named The Rock, we’ll be watching because if you claim The Tribal Chief mantle next, same thing will happen to you.”
The conversation can be accessed and listened to on Youtube for deeper insight into Rhodes’s mindset going into the match.
