AEW saw a surprising comeback by Anthony Bowens at Dynasty: Zero Hour, where he triumphed over his ex-tag team ally, Max Caster. Bowens was previously part of the well-loved trio known as The Acclaimed along with Caster and Billy Gunn. The group however, disintegrated during AEW Collision: Maximum Carnage, following which Bowens was not seen in action.
On his return, Bowens sported an altered image with black, red, and white sportswear, an updated entrance video, and the inclusion of the Rolling Elbow among his final moves. Despite the changes, some things remained constant — notably the presence of Billy Gunn, hinting at an interesting new phase with a known collaborator.
