The forthcoming edition of AEW Dynamite (August 14, 2024) slated to take place at the Chartway Arena in Norfolk, Virginia holds much anticipation. Among the thrilling battles, AEW world titleholder Swerve Strickland will confront Blackpool Combat Club’s representative, Wheeler Yuta.

The scenario unfolded through a challenging invitation forwarded by Strickland directly. Riding high on Bryan Danielson’s triumph over Jeff Jarrett in the prime match of Dynamite, Strickland not only commended Danielson but also subtly taunted how he would prove to be a harder rival than Jarrett. To pitch himself against a worthy opponent like Danielson ahead of All In, he expressed his desire to compete with Yuta. Yuta, expressing his excitement, readily agreed. Strickland aims to offer Danielson a premium view of his menacing skills.

Furthermore, the Dynamite event will also witness AEW continental champion Kazuchika Okada and fellow BCC member Claudio Castagnoli encounter each other face-to-face. Castagnoli has earned his right to contest against Okada for the AEW Continental Championship by previously winning a triple-threat match. Even though the official date of the title defense has not been disclosed, it is likely that the announcement will be done during Dynamite next week, most probably for AEW All In 2024.

On another note, the Saturday episode of AEW Collision at Esports Stadium Arlington also has lined up two enticing matches.

Long-term rivals Thunder Rosa and Deonna Purrazzo are all set to confront each other in a thrilling Texas Bull Rope match to possibly end their ongoing feud.

The next match is set to be a trios match, where the winner will gain the opportunity to compete against The Patriarchy for the AEW World Trios Championship at AEW All In 2024. The fight will feature The House of Black (consisting of Malakai Black, Buddy Matthews, and Brody King) and The Bang Bang Gang (formed by Juice Robinson, Austin Gunn, and Colten Gunn). The distinctive element of this match will be the presence of Christian Cage as the special guest referee, paving the way for unpredictable outcomes.
