Former WWE writer Vince Russo was far from impressed by CM Punk’s first promo on Monday Night RAW in close to a decade.

During this week’s episode of RAW, Punk spoke about being ‘home’ and shared his love for the fans while making it clear he’s back to make money, not to make friends.

On a recent edition of the “Wrestle Binge” podcast, Russo criticized Punk’s promo. He said,

“Just way too much pandering and kissing the bu**s of the fans. You got fired on your wedding day bro, seriously? That’s home? You wanna go home to that?

“That’s the promo, that should have been the promo, I’m not here to make friends, I’m here to make money, and the promo should have been, ‘Do you think I forgot I was fired on my wedding day?’ That should have been the promo, bro.”

At this time, there’s no word on who Punk’s first opponent will be. Seth Rollins had choice words for the ‘Best in the World’ during this week’s edition of RAW.

Former WWE writer Vince Russo recently expressed his disappointment with CM Punk’s first promo on Monday Night RAW in nearly a decade. During the episode, Punk spoke about being ‘home’ and expressed his love for the fans while emphasizing that he’s back to make money, not friends.

However, Russo criticized Punk’s promo on the “Wrestle Binge” podcast, stating that there was too much pandering and kissing up to the fans. He questioned Punk’s choice of considering WWE as his home, especially since he was fired on his wedding day. Russo suggested that the promo should have focused on Punk’s firing and his determination to make money rather than trying to please the fans.

Despite the criticism, it remains unclear who Punk’s first opponent will be upon his return. Seth Rollins, another prominent WWE wrestler, had some choice words for Punk during this week’s edition of RAW.

CM Punk’s return to WWE has been highly anticipated by fans, and his first promo generated mixed reactions. While some appreciated his heartfelt words and excitement for being back, others felt that there was too much fan service involved.
