In the first episode of AEW Dynamite on May 1st, Kenny Omega graced the screen for the first time since December 2023. Omega provided an update on his recovery process from diverticulitis. Shockingly, his promo was followed by an unexpected onslaught orchestrated by The Elite, featuring The Young Bucks, Jack Perry, and Kazuchika Okada. This led to Omega being temporarily removed from AEW programming.
Subsequently, Omega sustained surgery and currently, he’s tirelessly working towards his recovery. Moreover, he’s putting efforts into regaining his past fitness level and preparing for his ring return at the pinnacle of wrestling.
According to the renowned Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Omega underwent surgery on May 16. Considering the usual surgery recovery span of four months, Omega could potentially miss the upcoming AEW All In 2024 event within the next month.
Notably, the report asserts, “Kenny Omega underwent surgery on 5/16, and the usual recovery period is four months, so theoretically he’s going to fall a few weeks short of making All In at Wembley. His health predicament was significantly more severe compared to most hernia surgery cases.”
The AEW All In 2024 event is set to take place on the 25th of August at London’s Wembley Stadium, scheduled for the UK’s August Bank Holiday weekend.
