Earlier this year, it was reported by eWn that wrestler Daniel Garcia’s AEW contract was due to come to an end in the autumn. The question on everyone’s mind was whether or not he would sign a new one.
Fightful Select recently indicated that a prominent figure expressed certainty that Garcia will continue with the company. This individual expressed a belief that Garcia had already put pen to paper and re-signed with AEW.
Garcia, an impressive youth at just 26, would’ve had opportunities knocking at his door hadn’t he chosen to re-sign with AEW. Despite the WWE not initially signing Garcia when they could, they assured him of a fast sign-on if any other entity showed intent in making him an offer. Eventually, AEW signed Garcia for a full-time contract in October 2021.
Those in Garcia’s close circle hinted that his career trajectory would take a clearer shape shortly.
Tonight’s episode of AEW Dynamite, happening at the Wintrust Arena in Chicago, Illinois, will feature an exciting match between Will Ospreay and Daniel Garcia for the AEW International Championship.
In a recent episode of the “Good Karma Wrestling” broadcast ahead of AEW Dynamite: Beach Break, Willow Nightingale talked about the Owen Hart Cup tournament this year. She said,
“I’m in the Owen Hart Foundation Tournament. I did win that last year, but last year, the stakes weren’t as elevated. For me, I perceived my win as more of a statement than anything. This year, there’s the tantalizing prospect of advancing to Wembley, an opportunity I did not have last year. This has been a bothering thought for me for the latter half of the year. I have my eyes set on going to Wembley and wrestling for the Women’s World Championship, a feat I have not yet experienced, and an aspiration of mine. Winning there would be a beautiful dream moment; a perfect scenario. That’s my most immediate focus.”
