Social media personality, Essence Jenai, recently came out with claims that her contract as a brand promoter for the Real American beer – a brand linked with Hulk Hogan, was cut short a day after employment.
Jenai communicated her story through pictures on her TikTok profile, showing her behind-the-scenes experience in promoting the wrestling legend’s new beer brand, and then her sudden termination. She penned in her post,
“STORY TIME: Hulk Hogan hired me as a brand ambassador and here’s what happened… My agreement was supposed to last a week… Just a day into promoting his brand… He revoked my contract for no apparent reasons.”
She didn’t stop there. Jenai then shared a photo of her replacements – who were both white, and a screenshot of a text exchange with a PR representative who informed her about the cancellation of all scheduled events for that week.
Even so, Jenai disclosed that another event went on as planned the very next day with Hulk Hogan and the new brand promoters, suggesting through her post descriptions that there wasn’t room for her or the other originally chosen brand promoters.
In a follow-up post, Jenai shared another video clip of herself and another black brand promoter during the initial promotional event with Hogan. The caption within the video stated,
“POV: Hulk Hogan hired you to be a brand ambassador and the next day revoked your contract upon realizing you were a BLACK brand promoter.”
A tweet from The Art of Dialogue bluntly relayed, “Hulk Hogan terminates contract with brand promoter upon finding out she’s black.” followed by the mention that Hogan has been implicated in dismissing a promoter owing to their race. The tweet summarised Essence Jenai’s social media exposé of her brief stint as an ambassador for Hogan’s ‘Real American’ beer brand.
