All Elite Wrestling may be going back to live tapings as soon as early May, according to Dave Meltzer.
Meltzer writes in his latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter that AEW has enough matches taped to last them several weeks of programming worthy for TNT’s Dynamite, but is reporting that the current plan is to fire up weekly tapings (or at least doing weekly tapings more often) beginning on May 6. The promotion will be making a hard push for the promotion of Double Or Nothing.
The talent available for these shows will reportedly be twice as many in comparison to this last set of tapings. A good deal of the stars sidelined for the previous tapings have been quarantining themselves as of this week in preparation for May 6. Meltzer expects that the talent working those tapings will be the focus of the Double or Nothing PPV as well. He does make note, however, that putting these weekly live tapings in motion will have the AEW roster in the same predicament that WWE talent has in wanting to quarantine themselves before seeing their families again.
