All Elite Wrestling Announces Details For First Universal Studios Taping On September 11
All Elite Wrestling is bringing pro wrestling action back to Universal Studios in Orlando.
On Thursday, All Elite Wrestling confirmed a day of tapings that will take place on Soundstage 19 at Universal Studios on Saturday, September 11. The day will consist of two sessions; the first session runs from 12 pm – 3 pm EST, while the second session is from 4:30 pm-7:30 pm.
Limited seating is available; tickets are available for both sessions now at http://AEWTIX.COM. Thunder Rosa, Eddie Kingston, Orange Cassidy, Wardlow and Team Taz’s Ricky Starks and Powerhouse Hobbs were featured performers on the graphic advertising the taping.
F4WOnline’s Dave Meltzer first reported AEW Dark would be shifting to a studio taping format for “most weeks” in the future. The Mat Men Podcast’s Andrew Zarian later reported Universal Studios in Orlando as the likely venue for the tapings. During a recent media call, Tony Khan confirmed plans for the Orlando tapings and talked about how it would be utilized for Dark tapings, and noted the history of the venue in a pro wrestling format. Universal Studios was home to TNA/IMPACT Wrestling between 2004 and 2018, and WCW in the late 1990s.
Khan said Orlando will be used for shows under the Dark banner, later adding that Dark will mostly be in the studio, but you’ll still see some episodes taped in an arena setting.
