Following a six-man tag team match tonight, Aliyah was informed by Sonya Deville that she would no longer be a member of Team SmackDown at Survivor Series.

After she, Naomi, and Sasha Banks took down a team that consisted of Natalya, Shayna Baszler, and Shotzi Blackheart thanks to Aliyah reversing a sharpshooter into a pin, she was ecstatic. Deville found Aliyah backstage, and Aliyah was clearly excited after the win.

WHAT?!

Deville asked Aliyah how long she had known Naomi for, confusing the superstar. Deville then changed topics, telling Aliyah that she had been removed from the Survivor Series team, leaving Aliyah shocked and on the verge of tears.

For Aliyah, the news is a rough break, as she had just made her in-ring debut for SmackDown tonight after seven years in developmental with WWE. Later in the night during a backstage segment tonight on SmackDown, Adam Pearce — who was surprisingly joined by NXT’s Von Wagner — issued a match between Sami Zayn and Jeff Hardy, with the loser facing the ultimate consequence and having their spot on Team SmackDown removed.

In the match, Hardy came out on top, surviving some underhanded tactics from Zayn that saw him try to prop his feet up on the ropes to pin Hardy. While arguing with the referee, Hardy smartly turned Zayn around and hit the Twist of Fate for the win. Now, Zayn will be removed from the team, leaving an empty spot on Team SmackDown for now.
