Alisha Edwards Provides An Injury Update, Joe Hendry Talks Eminem/John Cena In TNA

Recent reports reveal that Alisha Edwards sustained a concussion at the TNA Emergence pay-per-view event and has been missing in action since then.

Edwards recently made a guest appearance on the “Reffin’ It Up” podcast where she discussed her current status and narrated how the concussion came about.
Here are a few notable moments from the podcast:

Regarding the incident: She explained that it happened during the first act of a stunt where she was meant to catch a dive. Unfortunately, an elbow from Jody Threat struck her temple and knocked her unconscious instantly. Because of the ongoing match, the others continued performing, not realizing she was knocked out. She however regained consciousness and was taken backstage.

About her first concussion: The unfortunate incident marks the first time Edwards has ever suffered a concussion. She expressed that she considers herself lucky to have previously avoided serious injuries. She has not wrestled since the incident and reveals this is her first time taking an extended break from the ring to recover.

Her experience the day after the incident: Edwards admitted to feeling scared after realizing the seriousness of her injury in the days following the accident. She mentions receiving supportive messages from friends and colleagues, which prompted her to consider the seriousness of the situation and take the necessary steps for a full recovery.

On TNA’s response: Edwards stated that TNA has been supportive, and they are working on enhancing their protocols to prevent such accidents in the future.

Her current status: She shared that she feels better now and is hopeful about getting clearance to wrestle by this weekend.

In other TNA news, Joe Hendry hopes to see John Cena and Eminem make an appearance in TNA Wrestling.

In the course of an interview with Steven Muelhausen for Sports Illustrated’s The Takedown, Hendry revealed his endeavors to bring these dreams to fruition.
Here are some extracts from that dialogue:

On inviting Cena to TNA: Hendry explained that his encounter with Cena in 2013 had been an important motivating factor for his wrestling career. He would love to create a “full-circle” moment and thinks that fans would appreciate seeing Cena in a TNA ring.

On potential crossover benefits: He believes that Cena, deemed one of the greatest of all time, crossing over to TNA could be beneficial for all involved. He also mentioned that a relationship between TNA and NXT makes this crossover a possibility.

An update on Eminem’s potential appearance at Bound For Glory: Hendry chose his words carefully, stating that, while he couldn’t confirm anything, the odds of Eminem appearing have increased since he first mentioned the idea.
