Alex Reynolds issued his first remarks after being knocked unconscious during AEW Dynamite’s main event, thanking people for their support.

According to Reynolds’ statement, he believes the referee and ringside doctor acted appropriately in taking care of him, and he feels safe with the team in AEW.

Hey guys, just wanted to thank you for all the concerns for my health. It means the world to me. I truly believe the ref and our doctor handled the situation great on Wednesdays [sic] show. Injuries happen in wrestling, but I feel completely safe with our team here. Thanks again and I’m looking forward to seeing you soon.

While it would appear that Reynolds is doing OK now, there was some concern about how the AEW staff handled the situation as it unfolded in the ring on Wednesday. Reynolds was injured during the four-way tag team main event, featuring himself and John Silver against The Young Bucks, The Butcher & The Blade and Private Party, with the injury occurring after Reynolds took a DDT spot followed by a splash and legdrop combination by Private Party.

Reynolds was motionless on the mat after a pin attempt, but the match continued as Blade dragged him towards the corner and tagged himself in. Reynolds was down in the corner as the other competitors worked around the situation before he was removed from the ring to be checked out at ringside.

According to PWInsider.com, Reynolds clearly had his “bell rung” during the match but they were told he was “up and OK” by the time the show ended. It was noted that while the incident was scary, Reynolds didn’t seem to have any problems backstage. F4WOnline.com’s Bryan Alvarez also added some context, noting that he was told Reynolds was “feeling great afterward” but there was no further update on his condition.
