Reigning MLW World Heavyweight Champion Alex Hammerstone walked out of War Chamber early on MLW Underground, after being pulled from a match with an apparent injury.

On Tuesday’s episode, Hammerstone entered the match at #3 for the Second Gear Crew, as they fought with Raven’s stable The Calling.

Shortly after Mance Warner entered the match as the final contestant, Hammerstone was taken out of the bout due to an apparent injury.

The Calling ultimately won the match after Rickey Shane Page nailed Matthew Justice with a vicious DDT for the pinfall.

Following the match, MLW CEO Court Bauer announced that Hammerstone was headed to the hospital and the matter would be handled on a day-to-day basis.

Bauer noted that he isn’t in favor of an interim champion and the company will analyze the situation one step at a time.

After the event was taped last week, it was reported that Hammerstone had likely suffered a pulled groin and is not expected to miss any time.

Hammerstone also worked a short match at the MLW Battle RIOT V taping the next night.
