Alberto El Patron, previously known as Alberto Del Rio during his WWE tenure, recently expressed his interest in making a comeback to the WWE after an absence lasting for several years. The professional wrestler who has already been crowned world champion four times shared his thoughts on a potential return matchup.

In a recent episode of the “Wrestle Binge” podcast, El Patron opened up about the possibility of his return and his preferred opponent. He stated,

“They know what I’m doing or what I’ve been doing all these years, especially these past 16 months, and I’m hoping that after seeing the best version of Alberto Del Rio, because I’m in a fantastic place and moment right now. I hope after all that hard work they decide one day to make the call because I would be lying if I don’t tell you or tell the fans that that’s my biggest dream to go back there and have one last run and retire, finally, hanging my boots after a match in the WWE against one of my favorite wrestlers, whoever it is, Punk, Cena, Rey Mysterio.”

Although El Patron holds the aspiration to make a return, the journey may not be a smooth one. In 2014, El Patron was dismissed from the WWE after a confrontation with an employee.

Currently, El Patron holds the AAA Mega Championship title for the second time, following his victory over Nic Nemeth at the most recent TripleMania competition.
