In an episode of WWE SmackDown that aired on October 4th, AJ Styles went head to head with Carmelo Hayes in a one on one match. However, the match was unceremoniously halted after it was revealed that Styles had incurred a “mid-foot ligament sprain”.
Styles, also known as the ‘Phenomenal One’, took to social media platform Twitter on the following Monday, responding to a fan who had expressed doubts about the authenticity of his injury. In his response, Styles confirmed the circulating news that he was grappling with a Lisfranc injury.
He tweeted, “It’s called a Lisfranc injury. Look it up, it sucks! I thought when I took off my boot. I would have a bone sticking out of my foot.” Later, responding to another tweet, Styles acknowledged, “Bingo, as the kids say…I’m cooked!”
As it stands, there is no official information about how long Styles will be absent from the ring.
We extend our thoughts and hope for a swift recovery for AJ Styles.
