AJ Francis, previously identified as Top Dolla, left WWE in September 2023. Post-release, Francis joined and contributed to various wrestling organisations, notably TNA Wrestling, and currently holds the prestigious title of TNA Digital Media Championship.
In a newly released interview with “One True Sport,” Francis shared his journey and experiences after joining TNA. He expressed sincere appreciation for the chances he has been offered in his new wrestling home.
Below are some remarkable excerpts from the podcast:
Francis on his exhilarating experience with TNA:“”TNA has been an incredibly satisfying journey. I am deeply grateful to the TNA team for recognising and nurturing my talent. They’ve provided me with an enormous platform – a mic and two minutes of fame, allowing me to channel my creative energy and display some exceptional performances. Their faith in me as a representative of the company is undeniably encouraging. Although the title was initially perceived as a pre-show title, merely meant to entice people to watch the show, I took it as a challenge to prove its potential. I am proud to say that, under my aegis, it has become the most coveted title in the company.”
Regarding his ongoing rivalry with PCO:“Let me put it this way, the most thrilling feud leading into Slammiversary is between yours truly AJ Francis and PCO. If you’re not convinced, then maybe you need to pay more attention to the ongoing events in the wrestling world. Trust me, our feud is the talk of the town. And yes, prior to this, I had an engaging feud with Joe Hendry, too. I consider myself the best in the business, and my championship belt, once proudly worn by Lou Thesz, stands as proof of that. In all honesty, Lou Thesz himself wouldn’t be able to touch my level of success.”
On how he values his opportunity at TNA:“My gratitude knows no bounds for the opportunities TNA has bestowed upon me. They acknowledge my skills and potential of contributing greatly to the company. Main eventing Slammiversary, facing off with the Montreal’s favorite, the French-Canadian Frankenstein, is one such monumental opportunity. If you look at Joe Hendry’s career progression, TNA’s growing attendance, surge in TNA Plus subscriptions, and the amplified viewership since my arrival, I would humbly say I have made a considerable impact.”
Francis is scheduled to defend his TNA Digital Media Championship in an eagerly awaited match with PCO at TNA Slammiversary 2024 this evening.
