Jey Uso, the newly crowned WWE Intercontinental Champion, expressed his gratitude after securing his first-ever singles title in WWE RAW’s main event.
In this week’s episode of RAW that took place in Ontario, California, Uso put an end to Bron Breakker’s 51-day reign in what marked his seventh attempt at a single’s title.
In a heartfelt address to his fans in Ontario post the match, Jey reveled in their supportive chants of ‘You deserve it’ and acknowledged the praise.
“YEET. I deserved it. I deserved it. No, first of all, look, I appreciate everyone who has been a part of my journey, uce. It fills me with joy that this happened in my home state, California. I strongly believe that hard work always pays off. I have a message for the kids: get good grades, obey your parents, pray, and I swear, your dreams will come true, just like how I won my first championship. I am the new Intercontinental Champion. If you’re down with Jey Uso being the new I.C. Champ, then let me hear you say YEET.”
It’s worth noting that Uso had vied for the Intercontinental Championship in February but was defeated by GUNTHER due to interference from Jimmy Uso.
As a celebrated figure, Jey is a 12-time WWE Tag Team Champion, and together with Jimmy, holds the unprecedented record of the longest reign in WWE tag team championship history.
