After an extreme bout at the recent AEW All Out 2024 pay-per-view event, it was speculated that top AEW star Swerve Strickland might be out of action for a significant duration. The unsanctioned Lights Out Steel Cage Match, held at the NOW Arena in Chicago, Illinois, saw Strickland and competitor Hangman Page engage in a notably violent clash that earned mixed responses.

The duo went through multiple hard-hitting instances involving a cinderblock during the match. Strickland not only performed a foot stomp through a table but also ominously used a burnt piece of timber to jab Page in the skull.

The finale of the fight was as brutal as the preceding minutes. Hangman Page resorted to the usage of a needle, jabbing it into Strickland’s mouth, and then successfully knocked him out with a strike to the head using a chair, thus claiming the win.

In the aftermath of the event, reports emerged suggesting Strickland might take a temporary step back from participating in AEW. However, the latest update shared by the Wrestling Observer Newsletter contradicts these.

The platform reported that Swerve Strickland might actually be reappearing sooner on AEW television than previously assumed. The speculation seems logical as the AEW WrestleDream 2024, a pay-per-view event, is set to take place on October 12 in Washington, Strickland’s home state.

However, despite these conjectures, the exact date of Strickland’s dramatic comeback is yet to be known. So, fans will be eagerly anticipating his arrival on AEW screens soon.
