AEW Wrestler Undergoes Surgery, Konnan Praises Recent AEW Women’s Match

The professional wrestler, Peter Avalon, shared a recent update on Threads, stating that he had just gone through shoulder surgery the previous Tuesday. He amusingly said the sling he is currently using is “causing [him] to go mad.” Avalon’s most recent in-ring encounter was back in December 2024 and he was last seen teaming up with Preston Vance on ROH on Honor Club in October 2024.

Avalon expressed, “My shoulder surgery took place last Tuesday, and this sling I’ve been wearing is driving me nuts.”

During the March 19th airing of AEW Dynamite, Mercedes Mone managed to uphold the AEW TBS Championship against the fast-rising talent, Billie Starkz.

Konnan then took to his podcast, “Keepin’ It 100”, to commend the fight, praising Mone’s suitability as a rival for Starkz while simultaneously emphasizing the young wrestler’s potential for greatness in the future.

Here are a few key points from the podcast:

On Billie Starkz’s performance: “Truthfully, I hadn’t seen her in the ring before this. Yet, despite being just 20 years old – Tony Schiavone even added that it was her 500th match in her career [Disco Inferno chuckles] – she showed immense potential, was willing to take risks, and seemed healthy with no major injuries. Especially the leap from the third to the apron, Mone’s skill and experience were evident in this bout.”

On areas Starkz could enhance: “[Mone] supported Starkz in delivering a solid match. Starkz definitely has potential, but she needs to work on her personality as I didn’t get a desire to see her once more.”
