AEW World Title Shot Clinched by Darby Allin, Retirement Announced by Meiko Satomura, Among Other News

Darby Allin emerged as the victor of the Royal Rampage match in the recent episode of AEW Rampage. His victory has earned him a shot at the AEW World Championship at the AEW Dynamite: Grand Slam event, scheduled for September 25th. In addition to this, Allin is set for a TNT Championship match at All In 2024, which he secured at the conclusion of Blood & Guts 2024 on AEW Dynamite.

In the Royal Rampage match, various wrestlers made notable appearances, including ‘Freshly Squeezed’ Orange Cassidy, ‘The Machine’ Brian Cage, Brody King, The Butcher, and Claudio Castagnoli, among others. The match concluded with Allin securing a shot at the World Championship.

In other news, on AEW Battle of the Belts XI episode, an ROH Six-Man Tag Team Title match is set to take place. After The Dark Order were defeated by The Von Erichs & Dustin Rhodes at Death Before Dishonor 2024, the latter will now compete against Roderick Strong, Matt Taven, & Mike Bennett for the titles.

Furthermore, Pluto TV is set to launch a WOW – Women Of Wrestling channel ahead of season three’s premiere in syndication, as announced by Paramount Global.

Lastly, at a press conference conducted by Sendai Girls, Japanese professional wrestler Meiko Satomura declared her retirement, set in April 2025. Satomura is scheduled to face off against Bayley at a WWE live event in Tokyo, Japan. Her retirement match will take place at Korakuen Hall.
