The yet-to-be finalized TV contract between AEW and Warner Bros. Discovery is nearly at its conclusion, and is expected to be concluded by the year-end when the current contract runs out.
According to the recent instalment of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer provided the latest intel on AEW’s upcoming media rights contract with Warner Bros. Discovery.
Meltzer primarily disclosed that a proclamation regarding the new broadcasting contract was on the brink of being prepared. He then affirmed that the contract is now in its final stages.
The impending disclosure, predicted to align with the fifth anniversary of AEW Dynamite, is set to unveil a media rights contract and the involved channels, whilst withholding the entirety of the details encompassed in the new contract. Promotional content for this disclosure is also under process by Warner Bros. Discovery.
Meltzer remarked, “The deal is done, and the [media] releases are in the process of being worked on. An announcement is forthcoming. An announcement is already done, it’s just a question of when it will be released, and it could be Wednesday. It could be a little bit later, but it’s done, okay?”
Concrete details of the contract, its listed price, and the channels that would be involved under the Warner Bros. Discovery framework remain undisclosed.
The half-decade anniversary of AEW Dynamite is to be marked tomorrow, hosted at the Petersen Events Center in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
