‘AEW Rampage: The First Dance’ Announced For August 20 In Chicago, Darby Allin Teases CM Punk’s Debut

All Elite Wrestling teased that general manager Tony Khan would announce a new live event on this week’s episode of AEW Dynamite. Fans were buzzing about this announcement in the days leading up to the show, and the reveal certainly lived up to the hype.
On Wednesday night, Tony Schiavone stated that AEW will present “The First Dance,” a special episode of AEW Rampage on August 20, and the show will be held in the United Center in Chicago. Naturally, given the rumors surrounding CM Punk’s return, the fans in attendance immediately started chanting the hometown star’s name.

Right after the announcement, in a backstage interview, Darby Allin teased Punk’s arrival in AEW. He gave a promo in which he called out someone who thinks they’re “the best in the world,” a clear nod to the former WWE Champion.
